Responsible breeding
We are proud to support responsible breeding and promote good breeding practice here at Rowly & Newdigate House Vet. We work closely with a variety of breeding programmes, supporting and assisting them. One of our nurses, Emma, is experienced when it comes to canine fertility and works closely alongside our vets to promote responsible breeding.
Emma has written a comprehensive guide to ‘pregnancy in dogs’ following the journey from health testing, choosing a stud, pregnancy and labour, and the 8 weeks beyond this. This guide is available to all our registered clients, and those considering breeding from their dog.
Breeding services
We offer: hip and elbow scoring, in house progesterone testing, ultrasonography, a dedicated whelping service in your own home with a registered veterinary nurse to assist you and your dog during their labour, microchipping, first vaccinations, health checks and of course, our own out of hours service at our Cranleigh branch. Where you can see a familiar vet at anytime of day or night.
In the future we hope to also offer services for artificial insemination, semen analysis and vaginal cytology.
There will always be puppies in the world, and our aim is to help promote good, responsible breeding from qualified veterinary professionals.
